looking through the lens @ the bma

the baltimore museum of art is opening a new exhibition march, 16 2008 that is focusing on vintage photography. from the bma:

Approximately 150 vintage prints by some of the world’s best-known 20th century photographers are featured in this exhibition of iconic images by European and American artists such as Man Ray, Alfred Stieglitz, Edward Weston, Paul Strand, Dorothea Lange, and Gordon Parks. Drawn from the BMA’s outstanding collection, these rarely shown photographs were produced during a pivotal period in the history of the medium—when photography became fully recognized as an art form.

the bma is also giving viewers a chance to create their own digitally inspired work after visiting the exhibiton:

And you can join Looking Now by visiting Looking through the Lens, creating your own digital images inspired by the exhibition, and uploading them here beginning in mid-March. The best of the images submitted online will be on view at the BMA in the Looking Now Digital Gallery. April 23–June 8
