History of the Photo Booth

I am a huge fan of the old school photo booths. My favorite one used to be housed at the ottobar in Baltimore. However last year sometime they removed it. Now I don’t believe there are any located in Baltimore. If anyone knows of any please let me know. The last one I was in was in Philadelphia. It was odd, because the photo booth is located in a rather nice restaurant. Me and my two friends had been walking around the city all day and I had even slipped and fell into a fountain at one point, so needless to say we are dirty and sweaty and just disheveled looking. We walked through the restaurant among it’s patrons and just hung out at the photo booth taking countless photographs. Strangely enough no one seemed to mind. Anyway, aside from my anecdote here is a video from the New York Times that explains the history of the wonderful invention of the photo booth.

And here is our result from that fateful day in Philadelphia.

The AVAM’s basement has a photobooth. It’s modern (and digital? I don’t remember) BUT at least there’s a booth SOMEWHERE.

Hi Katherin, Baltimore is bit far away, but just in case you’ll plan a trip to Europe one day.
