David Byrne — Playing the Building

David Byrne’s latest sound installation is currently on display at the Battery Maritime building in NYC. What he has done in this installation is take a building, and attach two types of wires from the organ to different parts of the structure. So when you hit a key on the organ it is actually sending electricity to a various spot in the building and playing the sound of that structure. The best part about this installation is not only do you get to play the organ, but you also get to see exactly where each key is connected to.
